We all love beer but how about some cocktails?
December 11, 2020
We all love an ice cold refreshing beer, whether its at happy hour with our buddies or over the weekend while playing a round of golf, we know how to enjoy a cold one.
Now you might be a light beer kind of guy or maybe you’re someone with a passion for craft beer but today, let’s explore some cocktails.
We’re going to go over cocktails that we think deserves a little more attention, requires very little effort to make, and it’s something that could be a party favorite the next time you host a barbecue.
For my Bourbon lovers
Let’s start off with one of my personal favorites, the Bourbon Iced Tea. Now of course you can substitute Whiskey for Bourbon but I prefer Bourbon.
When you’re manning the grill and slinging barbecue for your friends and family, this cocktail is going to keep you cool and refreshed.
Here we go:
- Grab your favorite whiskey or bourbon. Our personal recommendation is Bulleit Bourbon. Nice and smooth for an excellent price.
- 1.5 oz of bourbon
- 4 oz of lemonade
- 6 oz of iced tea
- 2 lemon wedges
- Fresh mint leaves
- One Strawberry
Grab a nice tall glass and fill it with ice and give it a nice stir. This one is sure to cool you down on a nice sunny weekend. For an in depth look at how to take this cocktail to the next level, check it out at Yummly.
The Tequila cocktail you’ve never tried
The Paloma is an insanely delicious cocktail and really not a cocktail that you see very often. It’s a tequila based drink and if you’re getting tired of all the margaritas, this is going to be a great substitute for you. I know this one will be your wife’s favorite.
For this drink we decided to go with another personal favorite, Casamigos Tequila. Be sure to check them out as they have 3 different Tequila’s as well as Mezcal, with quality that is tough to beat.
How to make a Paloma:
- 1 part Casamigos Tequila
- 2 parts Fresca
- 1 part Simple syrup
- 2 parts Grapefruit juice
- Fresh Rosemary Sprigs, Grapefruit or Lime Slice
You won’t ever want a Rum and Coke after this one
This is new one for me as well but I have to say, this is such a tasty drink and is a nice change of pace from your boring Rum and coke or Mojito if you’re a rum drinker.
Cable Car with our choice of Appleton 12 Rum:
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1 lemon wedge
- 1 1/2 ounces of
- 3/4 ounce Orange Curacao or Triple Sec of your choice
- 1/2 ounces of simple syrup
- 1 ounce lemon juice
- Garnish: orange spiral
To serve up this delicious Rum cocktail, we are going to shake this up with ice and get it really chilled. Garnish with an orange spiral and enjoy!
So there you have it guys, our top 3 cocktails that we think should get some more recognition. They aren’t hard to make and you can always change up some of the recipe to really make it your own. Hold the beer off this weekend and give these cocktails a whirl. Show off your hidden cocktail making skills to your lovely lady, I guarantee she will be impressed.
